‘Light at the end of the tunnel’ will inspire students as H.E Holger Ziegeler inaugurates the Max Planck Society’s Travelling Exhibition ‘Images of Science’

The art galleries of Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) opened its doors to a one of kind travelling exhibition ‘Images of Science’ on 10th March 2022. The event was graciously inaugurated by H.E Holger Ziegeler, Consul General of Germany in Karachi.

Being a physicist himself, Ziegeler believed in the impact of the images as they not only showcase the beauty of scientific discoveries but can also be the ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ for students as they get a glimpse into the fascinating world of science. He hoped that the exhibition will inspire students to view science in a more interesting way and instil curiosity in young minds.

At the inauguration, a video message was also delivered by Dr. Asifa Akhtar, the first Pakistani female Vice President of the Biology and Medicine Section of the Max Planck Society, who spoke of the importance and dedication of the hard work behind the images being showcased.

The exhibition comprises work from more than 80 research institutes of the Max Planck Society where scientists enter images showcasing their work from various research fields. The most spectacular images are selected for the travelling exhibit that provides an enthralling glimpse of science. The exhibit has enjoyed great success in Austria, United States, and Egypt.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Deans, Directors, and Chairpersons, faculty, students and ORIC Staff.
