BUITEMS had the privilege of hosting Governor Balochistan, Malik Abdul Wali Kakar, on May 19, 2023. The Acting Vice Chancellor, Dr. Abdul Rehman Khan, along with the top management, warmly welcomed the Honorable Governor/Chancellor upon his arrival. The purpose of the visit was to attend a two-day Vice Chancellor's Conference presided over by the Honorable Governor to address the challenges faced by public sector universities in Balochistan and explore strategies to ensure their long-term sustainability.
The conference brought together the Vice Chancellors from ten esteemed universities in Balochistan, including BUITEMS Quetta, the University of Balochistan, Sardar Bahadur Khan Women's University, Makran University, Gwadar University, the University of Khuzdar, Mir Chakar Khan Rind University, the University of Loralai, the University of Turbat, and the University of Lasbela.
The Vice Chancellors participated, engaging in discussions and exchanging ideas to find effective solutions. Key topics included research and innovation, infrastructure development, collaboration and partnerships, quality assurance, faculty development, and financial sustainability. The conference provided a collaborative platform to foster collaboration and generate innovative ideas. BUITEMS expressed gratitude to Governor Balochistan and anticipated positive outcomes for the region's higher education system.
