Islamabad, April 2025 – In a strategic effort to advocate for the financial stability of higher education institutions in Balochistan, Professor Dr. Khalid Hafeez, Vice Chancellor of the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), held a significant meeting with Dr. Ziaul Haq Qayyum, Director General, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad.
The meeting focused on addressing the issue of outstanding tranches of HEC funds allocated to BUITEMS and other public sector universities (PSUs) in Balochistan. Professor Hafeez emphasized the urgency of releasing these critical funds, which are essential for ensuring the smooth functioning, research activities, and development projects of universities in the province.
During the discussion, Professor Hafeez highlighted BUITEMS’s growing national and international contributions, reaffirming its commitment to academic excellence, technological innovation, and regional development. He stressed that timely financial support from HEC is crucial to sustaining progress and expanding access to quality higher education in underserved regions like Balochistan.
