Social Networking Seminar

On April 29, 2025, the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), in collaboration with the Paigham-e-Pakistan Centre for Peace, Reconciliation & Reconstruction Studies at the Islamic Research Institute, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), and the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, organized a Social Networking Seminar at BUITEMS. The event centered on the theme of “Advancing Inclusive and Resilient Youth Communities by Preventing Violent Extremism on Educational Campuses.”

The seminar began with the arrival of students, esteemed guests, and dignitaries. The program opened with the national anthem and the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a heartfelt Naat presented by a BUITEMS student, setting a reflective and respectful tone for the day.

The Vice Chancellor of BUITEMS, Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez, delivered a welcome address emphasizing the university’s commitment to peacebuilding, youth engagement, and academic responsibility. He underscored the role of higher education institutions in shaping socially conscious individuals and highlighted BUITEMS’ dedication to fostering an inclusive and secure learning environment.

This was followed by a keynote address by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq, Director General of the Islamic Research Institute at IIUI. He spoke on the pivotal role that academic institutions play in cultivating empathy, tolerance, and responsible citizenship. He also shared insights into the Paigham-e-Pakistan initiative, a national effort to counter extremist ideologies through informed dialogue and intellectual empowerment.

Adding further depth to the program, BUITEMS student societies, including the Inclusive Student Society and the Civil and Social Responsibility Society, presented thoughtful performances. Their presentations reflected the students’ dedication to inclusivity, civic participation, and the promotion of peace.

The Chief Guest, His Excellency Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail, Governor of Balochistan, delivered a powerful and encouraging address. He urged the youth to become ambassadors of peace, resilience, and unity, and lauded the collaborative efforts of BUITEMS and its partners in creating platforms for dialogue, awareness, and social transformation.

The seminar concluded with the presentation of souvenirs and copies of the Paigham-e-Pakistan document to the distinguished guests. The event not only strengthened the message of harmony and unity but also reaffirmed the need to empower youth with the knowledge, values, and tools required to stand firmly against violence and division.
