Islamabad, September 2025 – The Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) is actively pursuing new avenues of collaboration with leading national energy companies under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez, Vice Chancellor BUITEMS, held a productive meeting with senior officials of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and Mari Energies in Islamabad. The discussions centered around leveraging CSR resources to enhance educational and research opportunities for the youth of Balochistan, particularly in fields aligned with the province’s rich natural resource base.
Key focus areas included:
CSR-backed Scholarships: Dedicated financial support for students of Balochistan applying to BUITEMS in disciplines such as Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, and Petroleum & Gas Engineering.
Strengthening Research Laboratories: Upgrading and equipping BUITEMS’ research labs in specialized fields to boost innovation and applied research capacity.
Technology Museum at BUITEMS: Establishing a state-of-the-art museum to inspire youth, showcase Balochistan’s mineral wealth, and highlight technological advancements.
Carbon & Green Credit Projects: Collaborative initiatives aimed at environmental sustainability and climate responsibility.
Both organizations expressed strong interest in supporting these initiatives and invited BUITEMS to submit detailed proposals for consideration.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez highlighted that partnerships of this kind are vital for bridging academia, industry, and society. “BUITEMS is committed to nurturing talent and advancing research in areas of strategic importance for Pakistan, and CSR collaborations with companies like PPL and Mari Energies will play a pivotal role in this journey,” he said.
This engagement reflects BUITEMS’ vision of building robust linkages with industry leaders to strengthen education, research, and innovation while contributing to the socio-economic development of Balochistan and beyond.
