Department of Architecture

The profession and technique of designing building utilize science and arts to improve people’s lives. It occupies a special place in the hierarchy of the professions in that its primary goal is to adapt and to choreograph the 'art of Living.’ The Department of architecture was established at BUITEMS in 2009. Since then the department has developed significantly and currently, it has more than 150 undergraduate students.

The objective of the 5 years degree course is to produce professionals with a comprehensive body of knowledge and skills that shape the construction and operation of an environment that is both built and unbuilt along developing innovative strategies to fulfil the contemporary as well as future needs worldwide with a specific focus on Baluchistan.

At department of architecture we are committed to train students through in depth study and research in social, cultural, political and historic context; and to provide a comprehensive architectural design solution for the region in general and for Baluchistan in particular with emphasis on its spatial needs.

  • The ability to create architectural design incorporating aesthetic and technical requirements that should be environmentally sustainable.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the relationship between people, buildings and their environment, and the need to relate buildings and the spaces between them to human needs and scales
  • Adequate knowledge of the history and theories of architecture and the related arts, technologies and human sciences.

Admission Requirement

  • FSc Pre-engineering/ A- levels from any recognized board or equivalent with at least 50% marks.
  • Diploma in the same field securing at least 60% marks.
  • Admissions are made on the bases of NTS test and aptitude test taken by the Department. The test examines the creative thinking, writing skills and freehand drawing followed by an interview.

  • Of applying knowledge of mathematics, science, art and engineering to use the techniques, skills, and modern architectural tools necessary for architectural practice to identify, formulate, and solve architectural problems having Knowledge of contemporary issues.
  • Understanding of professional and ethical responsibility to communicate effectively to understand the impact of architectural solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
