BUITEMS Organizes Professional Training Workshop on Defensive Driving and Road Safety

Quetta, 18 August 2026: The Directorate of Human Resource Management – Training & Development (T&D), BUITEMS, in collaboration with TOYOTA Chiltan Motors, Quetta, and the National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP), Balochistan, organized a one-day professional training workshop on “Defensive Driving & Road Safety” at the Training Hall, Block-B, Takatu Campus, BUITEMS.
A total of 60 BUITEMS drivers participated in the workshop, which aimed to strengthen their professional capacity and promote defensive, responsible, and safe driving practices. The training covered road safety rules, accident prevention, human factors, vehicle inspection and pre-trip safety checks, as well as the risks associated with distracted, fatigued, and impaired driving.
The BUITEMS drivers were led during the event by Abdul Qadeem Kakar, Director Administration and General Services, BUITEMS, and Farhan Ahmed Baig, Deputy Director Transport, BUITEMS, who supported and guided the participants throughout the training programme.
The workshop focused on defensive driving techniques, accident prevention, vehicle safety, pre-trip inspection, and responsible driving behaviour. Participants gained enhanced awareness of road hazards, traffic safety requirements and the importance of maintaining vehicles in safe operating condition.
The training also featured active participation by the University drivers in sessions, discussions and practical learning activities. The collaboration with TOYOTA Chiltan Motors, Quetta, and National Highways & Motorway Police, Balochistan, provided valuable technical and professional expertise in vehicle safety, traffic regulations, defensive driving, and road accident prevention.
On the occasion, Abdul Qadeem Kakar, Director Administration and General Services, BUITEMS, distributed shields and souvenirs among the training attendees in recognition of their participation and engagement in the professional development activity.
The workshop served as an important capacity-building and road safety initiative of BUITEMS, contributing to improved professional conduct, safer driving practices, and greater awareness among University drivers.
