Quetta, June 18, 2026: In pursuance of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) and the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, a Training of Master Trainers (ToMT) session under the Roshan Pakistan National Literacy Drive – “Each One Teach One” (EOTO) Initiative was successfully conducted at the BUITEMS Takatu Campus on June 18, 2026.
The training session marked a significant milestone in the collaborative efforts of BUITEMS and NCHD to promote literacy, community engagement, and educational outreach in line with the national vision of enhancing literacy rates and expanding access to education across the country.
The event was graced by the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez (T.I.), BUITEMS, as the Chief Guest. Among the distinguished participants were Prof. Dr. Abdul Wadood, Director Student Affairs and Academics/Chairperson of the EOTO Committee, BUITEMS, and Mr. Attaullah Badini, Deputy Director, NCHD. Their presence underscored the commitment of both institutions to fostering sustainable partnerships aimed at educational and social development.
The proceedings commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Attaullah Badini, Deputy Director, NCHD, who highlighted the objectives and strategic importance of the Roshan Pakistan National Literacy Drive. He emphasized the critical role of higher education institutions in supporting national literacy initiatives through volunteerism, outreach activities, and community-based educational programs.
In his keynote address, Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez (T.I.), Vice Chancellor, BUITEMS, emphasized that literacy serves as the foundation of social and economic progress. He highlighted the pivotal role of faculty members and students in advancing literacy and educational awareness within society and reaffirmed BUITEMS’ unwavering commitment to supporting the Government of Pakistan's literacy agenda. He further assured the full cooperation of the University in the successful implementation of the EOTO initiative.
A total of 115 faculty members representing all six faculties of BUITEMS participated in the training and were designated as Master Trainers. The session focused on enhancing participants’ understanding of the objectives, implementation framework, operational strategy, and expected outcomes of the EOTO program. Faculty members were comprehensively briefed on their responsibilities and expected contributions toward the effective execution of literacy-related activities under the partnership between BUITEMS and NCHD.
The interactive session also provided a valuable platform for discussion on future collaborative initiatives in the areas of literacy promotion, capacity building, research, volunteerism, and community development. Participants exchanged ideas and explored strategies for maximizing the impact of the program within local communities.
The event concluded with closing remarks by Prof. Dr. Abdul Wadood, Director Student Affairs and Academics/Chairperson of the EOTO Committee. He appreciated the dedicated efforts of NCHD and thanked all faculty members for their active participation and commitment to the initiative. In his remarks, he informed the audience that more than 600 faculty members and approximately 7,000 students of BUITEMS would be trained and engaged under the EOTO program. He emphasized the importance of sustained institutional collaboration in achieving the objectives outlined in the MoU and encouraged continued participation in future educational and community service initiatives.
The training session concluded successfully with a renewed commitment from both BUITEMS and NCHD to continue working together in the fields of literacy promotion, education, capacity building, research, volunteerism, and community service. The initiative reflects a shared vision of empowering communities through education and contributing to the socio-economic development of Pakistan.
