Muslim Bagh, September 23, 2026: The Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) Sub-Campus Muslim Bagh celebrated Pashtun Culture Day with enthusiasm and cultural spirit, providing students and faculty with an opportunity to celebrate, preserve, and appreciate the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Pashtun community.
The celebration was held in the presence of the Director, Campus, Dr. Ali Kakar, with active participation from faculty members and students. The event reflected BUITEMS’ commitment to creating an inclusive academic environment where students can engage with the diverse cultural heritage of Balochistan and develop a deeper sense of identity, unity, and belonging.
A notable feature of the celebration was the display of a traditional Pashtun nomadic tent, known as “Khema” in Pashto, presented by Ms. Nargis Noor Kakar. The traditional tent represented the lifestyle of Pashtun communities in earlier times, serving as a central space for cooking, eating, resting, and family life. The display provided students and visitors with a meaningful glimpse into the simplicity and traditional way of life of the Pashtun people.
Faculty members and students also established a range of traditional food and cultural stalls, showcasing local traditions and culinary heritage. Traditional cultural activities and Attan further added vibrancy and enthusiasm to the celebration, bringing members of the campus community together in a shared expression of cultural pride.
The event provided a platform for students to learn about and appreciate cultural traditions while strengthening cultural awareness, heritage preservation, unity, and community engagement. Such activities also contribute to BUITEMS’ broader commitment to nurturing well-rounded students who value diversity, cultural identity, and social harmony alongside academic excellence.
The celebration concluded with group photographs and a collective expression of pride in Pashtun culture and heritage, making the occasion a memorable cultural gathering at BUITEMS Sub-Campus Muslim Bagh.
