Quetta: The Department of Public Administration (DPA), Faculty of Management Sciences at Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences successfully organized the Spring Plantation Drive 2026 and a Campus Cleaning Drive at Takatu Campus, Quetta, reinforcing the university’s commitment to environmental sustainability, civic responsibility, and community engagement.
Both initiatives were organized under the supervision of Assistant Professor, Management Sciences, Ms. Rukia Magsi, with active participation from students of the 6th and 8th semesters of the Department of Public Administration. The activities aimed to promote environmental awareness, campus cleanliness, teamwork, and a sense of social responsibility among students.
The Spring Plantation Drive 2026 was organized in collaboration with the Forest Department Government of Balochistan and the Health Department Government of Balochistan to encourage environmental sustainability and enhance campus greenery. The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez as Chief Guest. Distinguished guests included Mr. Munir Ahmed Musiani, Additional Secretary Forest, Government of Balochistan; Mr. Shoukat Baloch from the Health Department, Government of Balochistan; and Mr. Asif Khosa, CEO IPRSDP. Faculty members, students, and officials from collaborating departments also participated in the activity.
During the plantation campaign, participants planted saplings across various areas of the campus, demonstrating a collective commitment toward environmental protection and sustainable development. The initiative encouraged active student engagement in green and climate-responsible activities.
Alongside the plantation campaign, students also participated enthusiastically in the Campus Cleaning Drive, contributing to a cleaner and healthier university environment through teamwork and community service. The activity highlighted the importance of civic responsibility, discipline, and environmental stewardship among youth.
The initiatives were highly appreciated by Prof. Dr. Syed Munawar Shah, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, and Dr. Manzoor Ali Brohi, In-Charge Chairperson (Public Administration), who commended the dedication and efforts of the faculty members and students. They emphasized that such activities play an important role in developing leadership, teamwork, discipline, and a sense of ownership among students within the framework of public administration and community service.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez, Vice Chancellor, BUITEMS, appreciated the efforts of the Department of Public Administration and collaborating organizations for organizing impactful environmental initiatives. He emphasized the importance of collective action in addressing climate challenges and promoting a cleaner, greener, and healthier future for Balochistan.
The events concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to supporting future environmental, plantation, and community-oriented initiatives aimed at building a sustainable society.
