BUITEMS Hosts Orientation Session for EU TVET-IV Project Training Programs

Quetta: Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) organized an orientation session for applicants of the fully funded training programs being offered under Team Europe’s TVET Sector Support Programme through the EU TVET-IV Project, implemented by the British Council.
The orientation session was attended by Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez, Vice Chancellor BUITEMS, Engr. Dr. Surat Khan, Dean Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies (FICT), Dr. Ashraf, Program Coordinator, and Syed Dara Shikoh Amir, Director Communications, BUITEMS, along with faculty members, prospective trainees, and university officials.
Representing the British Council, Mr. Kashif Farooqi, Project Manager – Balochistan, and Mr. Suleman Shakeel, Project Coordinator – Balochistan, participated in the session and briefed attendees about the objectives, scope, and opportunities available through the project.
During the session, participants were informed about the two internationally accredited six-month training programs being offered at BUITEMS:
Digital Marketing & Content Creation
Creative Motion Design (2D/3D Animation and Video Editing)
The speakers highlighted that the programs are specifically designed to equip women from Balochistan with industry-relevant skills and practical training required for careers in the digital economy. The initiative aims to enhance employability, entrepreneurship, freelancing opportunities, and professional growth through hands-on learning and exposure to modern technologies.
Addressing the participants, Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez appreciated the support of the European Union and the British Council in promoting technical and vocational education in Balochistan. He emphasized BUITEMS’ commitment to providing quality training opportunities that empower youth, particularly women, through skill development and career-oriented education.
Engr. Dr. Surat Khan highlighted the growing importance of digital technologies, creative industries, and emerging skills in the modern workforce. He encouraged participants to fully benefit from the training programs and utilize the opportunities available for professional growth and career development.
Representatives of the British Council encouraged applicants to take full advantage of the fully funded training opportunities, which offer internationally accredited curricula, modern learning facilities, industry engagement, and pathways to internships, freelancing, and employment.
The orientation session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, enabling participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of the training programs, admission process, and future career prospects.
The initiative reflects BUITEMS’ continued commitment to fostering skills development, innovation, and workforce readiness through strategic collaboration with national and international partners, while creating greater opportunities for the youth of Balochistan, particularly women, to thrive in the digital economy.
