BUITEMS Hosts Seminar on AI, Blockchain, and Emerging Technologies

Quetta: The Civil Engineering Society (CES) of the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (FOE&A), BUITEMS successfully organized a seminar titled “AI, Blockchain and Movement” at Orange Hall, Takatu Campus, Quetta. The event brought together students, faculty members, and industry experts to explore the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain technologies in shaping the future of innovation and digital development.
The seminar was graced by Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez, Vice Chancellor BUITEMS, as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Surat Khan, Dean Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT) attended as a distinguished guest. The event was organized by the Civil Engineering Society under the leadership of its President, Jahanzaib Khan, and hosted by Mr. Taha Waseem and Mr. Khissal Waleed. Addressing the participants, Jahanzaib Khan encouraged students to actively engage in learning emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence, and to participate in seminars and practical learning opportunities to enhance their professional skills and future competitiveness.
The seminar featured insightful technical presentations by renowned speakers including Mr. Muhammad Muzamil, Mr. M. Turab Turabi, Mr. Musawir Khan Kasi, and Dr. Irfan Halim. The speakers discussed the growing convergence of AI and Blockchain technologies, highlighting their applications in decentralized systems, environmental intelligence, data security, digital trust, smart contracts, and programmable finance.
In his keynote address, Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez emphasized that Artificial Intelligence is no longer a futuristic concept but a transformative technology that is rapidly becoming an essential tool across all sectors. He highlighted the importance of integrating AI with Blockchain to create secure, transparent, and efficient digital ecosystems capable of addressing complex global challenges.
The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the Civil Engineering Society for organizing a timely and informative event that promotes innovation, technological awareness, and interdisciplinary learning among students. He encouraged participants to develop expertise in emerging technologies to meet the demands of the evolving global job market.
The seminar concluded with a shield and certificate distribution ceremony, where the Vice Chancellor and Dean FICT recognized the contributions of the speakers, organizers, and student volunteers. The event reflected BUITEMS’ continued commitment to fostering innovation, research, and technological advancement while preparing students to become future leaders in the digital age.
