The Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Life Sciences and Informatics, BUITEMS, organized an academic exposure visit to the Balochistan Food Authority (BFA), Quetta, for BS Biotechnology (7th semester) students under the supervision of Dr. Waseem Khan.
The visit aimed to provide students with hands-on understanding of food safety, quality control, and regulatory mechanisms that ensure public health. Students learned about BFA’s inspection protocols, testing procedures, and laboratory operations through guided sessions and live demonstrations.
BFA officials, including Mr. Hameed Zehri, Mr. Anwar Kakar, Mr. Naseeb Ullah Kakar, and Mr. Shees Khan, shared their expertise on the role of biotechnology in maintaining food standards and preventing adulteration.
This initiative successfully bridged the gap between classroom learning and practical exposure, reaffirming BUITEMS’s commitment to experiential education, industry collaboration, and student empowerment.
