Mr. Khalil Ibrahim Basran, Program Coordinator, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency's (TİKA) Karachi Office, visited BUITEMS on September 21, 2022. He visited various sections, including the National Incubation center, the Central Library, and the BUITEMS server and data center, and had meetings with senior officials and faculty. A collaborative project between BUITEMS and TİKA is ensuing, under which TIKA will establish the Turkish language and culture education center at BUITEMS to strengthen the cooperation and friendship between the people of Pakistan and Turkey.
The Vice Chancellor, Mr. Ahmed Farooq Bazai, highlighted that BUITEMS is contributing to the education sector but also uplifting the socio-economic growth of the country, & BUITEMS is the global hub for SDG-8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), marking to support the SDG's agenda of 2030. BUITEMS has incorporated entrepreneurship in its curricula for all major degree programs and encouraged its students and alumni to plan their startups. To extend support to its students, the university, in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology, established a National Incubation Center (NIC). The NIC, located on campus, is a pro-innovation hub and business accelerator that provides a platform for budding entrepreneurs to demonstrate their talent and passion for solving the problems of the province and beyond.
Mr. Khalil Ibrahim Basran also visited the National Incubation Center and met with the startups and truly appreciated the team's efforts and proposed to train a few of the newly established Business Centers in Turkey.
