Appreciating the vital role of economics in overall national development, a separate department under the faculty of management sciences has been created in BUITEMS since November 2006.

VISION & MISSION

The aim of the department is to provide students with a liberal education with special emphasis on the economic aspects of society. Familiarization with techniques for the analysis of contemporary economic problems, and on developing the ability to think critically to conceptualize and to possess the communication and computer skills to evaluate private and public policy issues.

The Economics program is appealing to students due to the quality of its faculty, the breadth of its course offerings. In addition to training in the traditional economics areas, the program offers such diverse courses as the Islamic Economics, Project Appraisal and Management, Agriculture Economics, Urban and Environmental Economics. Students find the Department of Economics congenial to their educational and career objectives.

OBJECTIVES

Our objective is to be a department of highly qualified instructors dedicated to preparing our students for entry-level opportunities and long-term career success in Finance and Economics, providing a fulfilling experience for members of our faculty, and making meaningful contributions to the professional and academic communities at the national, regional and international levels.

OFFERED PROGRAMS

BUITEMS is pioneer in offering 4-years BS Economics in Balochistan and is among top five in offering at national level. This is a very well structured programme designed by eminent academicians of repute to produce the economists high in demand in the market. A well-qualified faculty is available to guide and train the students in a friendly and conducive environment. An ideal teacher to student ratio is maintained.
