Department of Fine Arts

The Department of Fine Arts was initiated at BUITEMS, in fall, 2010 with the aim and objective to provide students with a quality art education in the province. Balochistan is the largest province of the country; with rich cultural background, it has a great tradition of folk heritage. Some 7000 years ago a great ancient civilization of Mehar Ghar flourished here, which has been considered the hub of civilizations and from that time it remains a valuable source of inspiration for artists and researchers.

Art Education is the best way to preserve the history, culture and craft of an area; our intension is to provide technical knowhow to the people of far-flung areas of Balochistan, and to provide them an opportunity to carry out research and study their respective cultural backgrounds and to express themselves in the language of Visual Arts.
The department of Fine Arts provides four year BS courses in various disciplines of Arts. At present we are focused on four major areas of the fields: that are; Painting, Sculpture, Miniature Painting and Printmaking. The drawing is considered backbone of the fine arts therefore it is a compulsory subject throughout. All students start from the "Foundation year” which comprises of 1st and 2nd semester, and they select their major discipline in 6th semester. For a better understanding of the philosophy of Arts, the students are provided with the modern facilities of contemporary art, holding seminars and exhibitions from time to time.
