Mission
At FICT, we are committed to imparting quality education in the fields of information
technology, telecommunication, & Electronics; preparing students to the challenges;
and making newest technologies accessible to industries, businesses & public
at large.ndustrial applications opening out horizons for individuals and society
at large.
History
“Faculty of Computer and Emerging Sciences” was established in 2002 with a single
department, the BS Department of System Sciences. Initially this department offered
two degrees BS Computer Science and Computer Engineering. The Department of Electronic
Engineering, Department of Telecommunication Engineering and the Department
of Information Technology was established in 2003,2005, & 2006 respectively.
“Faculty of Computer & Emerging Sciences” was renamed as “Faculty of Information
& Communication Technology” in the first meeting of Senate held on June 23, 2007.
Objectives
- To keep student well informed about important current and likely future technology,
new knowledge and emerging technologies.
- To enable students design telecommunication devices, circuits and systems and obtain
employment in leading telecommunication companies in Pakistan and abroad.
- To engage students in the practice of electrical and computer engineering in industry,
education, and public service.
- To produce the next-generation Computer Scientists, creating well-aware developments
and techniques for contributing to the advancement of computing and research.
